Super Eagles caretaker coach, Augustine Eguavoen has said the conditions must be right for him to take up the role on a permanent basis.
Eguavoen is currently managing the team for the fourth time.
The 58-year-old, who is also the technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, stepped in to tinker the Super Eagles in last month’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
The former defender will also manage the team in the upcoming fixtures against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya.
Eguavoen has however discussed the possibility of staying as the permanent head coach of the three-time African champions.
“It will be a tough one. You have to give me long term contract with patience and clauses in that contract because winning is not guaranteed every week or day,” he told Brila FM.
“You will give me time to tweak the team till I find what I want.”
