A committee, assigned the responsibility of reaching out to the people of Taraba State with palliatives, has been inaugurated by the state government.
The committee, which was inaugurated on Wednesday by the state governor, Agbu Kefas, is aimed at cushioning the hardships necessitated by the removal of petrol subsidy by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Performing the inauguration at the Executive Chamber of the Government House in Jalingo, the state capital, Governor Kefas urged members of the committee to eschew acts capable of truncating the distribution of the palliatives to the rightful beneficiaries.
In line with the federal government’s directive to provide succour to the people, he believed it had become imperative for his administration to put up the committee in order to ameliorate the negative effects of the removal of fuel subsidy.
He charged the committee to carry all the people along, irrespective of religion, tribal and political affiliations.
Responding, chairman of the committee, Saleh Saad, said the committee would not only be fair in the execution of assigned responsibilities, but also transparent.
