Former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore was not arrested by the Department of State Services DSS but Nigerian Immigration Service ( NIS) shortly after his arrival  at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport

This clarification was made by the  Special Adviser on information and strategy  Bayo Onanuga when some online media erroneously linked Sowore brief arrest  to DSS .

Earlier on saturday, the activist had raised an alarm over a plot by security agencies to pick him up and frame him.

Sowore had said, “Yeah! All around in my home town, they’re tryin’ to track me down, yeah! They say they want to bring me in guilty.

“However Babylon must fall! #FearlessInOctober.”

However, constitutional lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, informed Newspot that Sowore had been released with his passport returned.

“Omoyele Sowore released, passport returned to him. Aluta continua,” Adeyanju said.
