Sokoto State is reinforcing its commitment to inclusive development through a coordinated rollout of data-driven policies, educational support, and community-focused welfare initiatives.

Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, FCNA, has approved the launch of a Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) Survey, scheduled to take place across all local governments from June 19 to July 9, 2025. Conducted in partnership with Redwire Marketing Consulting, the survey will capture actionable data on education, healthcare, employment, standard of living, and access to basic services—laying a foundation for more evidence-based, responsive policymaking.

The initiative supports the Governor’s 9-Point Smart Agenda, which prioritizes security, economic growth, youth empowerment, and better service delivery. Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Abubakar Mohammed Zayyana, emphasized that the survey is designed to tackle poverty at its root, while the State Statistician General, Alh. Abdullahi Abdulrahman Shagari, noted that the Bureau has been restructured to deliver timely and impactful statistics to guide governance.

Further deepening its investment in youth development, the Crystal Muslim Organization (CMO) recently distributed scholarship admission forms to selected beneficiaries for various courses at SEDTF, Sokoto. The effort was coordinated under the leadership of Hon. Nuruddeen Muhammad Mahe, who plays a dual role as both the State Ameer of the organization and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Strategic Communication. His ability to merge grassroots mobilization with high-level public communication has amplified the visibility and impact of state programs across Sokoto.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Comr. Aminu Jafar Muhammad (Bawan Jallah) expressed deep appreciation, describing the gesture as both timely and philanthropic.

In another welfare gesture, the Governor approved a 1000 Riyal Sallah gift to each Sokoto pilgrim participating in this year’s Hajj, adding a supportive touch to the religious season and reinforcing the administration’s ongoing care for citizens’ spiritual and material well-being.

From strategic surveys to scholarships and social support, Sokoto State is showing what intentional, people-focused governance can look like—with communicators like Nuruddeen Muhammad Mahe playing a crucial role in connecting government action to grassroots understanding.
