Chef Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, took the world by storm after she surpassed the current Guinness World Record holder for longest cooking time by individual, Lata Tondon, following her 100-hour cook-a-thon.

So in this episode of So This Happened, we reviewed the record-breaking feat by the Akwa Ibom-born chef and the inspiration behind her marathon cooking.

Before the cook-a-thon, during a press conference, Baci said she was inspired by the Holy Spirit and therefore, put herself forward to be an example and let other women see and know that they were capable of doing more.

She stated that she would cook for four days and four nights to break the 87 hours, 45 minutes set by Tondon.

Initially, she wanted to do 96 hours but surpassed it and cooked for 100 hours.

She got support from Nigerians; the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.); Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; and a host of others.
