The National Association of Delta State Students has urged the governor-elect, Sheriff Oborevweri, to undertake a downward review of school feels and to grant scholarship to students.
The newly elected NADESSTU National President, Wise Monday, made the call on Wednesday in Asaba, the state capital.
He also advised the incoming governor not to appoint many aides to manage student affairs as allegedly done by the outgoing Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Alleging that the N25m released annually for students’ town hall meetings through Okowa’s Senior Special Adviser had been diverted for personal use, Monday assured the students that every amount received by his successor, in the name of Delta State students, would be accounted for in due course.
Monday also urged “the incoming governor, Sheriff Oborevweri, to avoid the appointment of multiple aides to manage the students” in the state, saying the current crisis within the students’ community was largely caused by Okowa’s multiple aides on students’ affairs.
