The Osun State Police Command has arrested Falomo Tolulope, 32, the prime suspect in the shooting of protesting students of the Osun State College of Education on October 27, 2022, in Ilesa.

A press statement released on Thursday in Osogbo and signed by Yemisi Opalola, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), revealed that Falomo shot at the victims with a pump-action gun over an argument that ensued between him and the protesters and afterwards fled the scene.

He was, however, arrested on November 7, 2022, in his hideout at Odo Oro Area, Ilesa, where he was hibernating and the pump-action gun was recovered from him with one expended cartridge, following a determined statewide search by the police.

According to the statement: “Three students of the institution [who] sustained different degrees of injuries on their arms and legs [have been] treated and discharged.”

The Police spokesperson assured the public that the Osun State Police Command under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Faleye Olaleye is not relenting in the quest to ensure that the state is a sanctuary for all peace-loving citizens.
