Security agencies foiled an attack on the Ilorin cargo terminal by hoodlums who invaded the facility’s stores housing palliatives.
The attack on the facility occurred just a few hours after the state government through the state Commissioner for Communications, Harriet Afolabi Oshatimehin, raised an alarm over planned plots to attack public facilities in the state capital.
Items carted away before the arrival of security agencies include rice, indomie, grains and edible items.
Spokesman of the governor, Rafiu Ajakaye in a statement in Ilorin said “security agencies have been deployed to the cargo terminal to foil the attack by some hoodlums on the stores housing the palliative recently donated to the.”
He disclosed that the hoodlums invaded the place as officials continued the distribution of the palliative meant for the victims of the recent flood and rainstorm disasters.
“The government had traced the attacks on premeditated efforts to cause a breakdown of law and order across the country, including Kwara State,” the statement added.
Newspot reports that security agencies were still struggling to contain the hoodlums at a time of this report.
