Ruud van Nistelrooy is on the verge of becoming Leicester City’s new manager, according to reports.
The 48-year-old is available after leaving Manchester United earlier this month following the club’s decision to replace Erik ten Hag with Ruben Amorim.
Van Nistelrooy impressed in his brief stint in charge of United after Ten Hag’s sacking with the team registering three wins in four games.
According to The Telegraph, Leicester have held advanced talks with Van Nistelrooy after the Foxes sacked Steve Cooper on Sunday.
The report claims that Leicester are now set to confirm the Dutchman as Cooper’s replacement before their Premier League match against Brentford on Saturday.
It’s also claimed that moves for David Moyes and Graham Potter have been ruled out by sources close to the club.
Leicester currently sit 16th in the Premier League table, one point above the relegation zone.

Having ended his playing career in 2012, Van Nistelrooy started his coaching journey with PSV’s Under-17s the following year.
The former Manchester United striker spent 14 months in charge of PSV’s first team, beating Ajax in the finals of the Dutch Cup and the Dutch Super Cup.
Van Nistelrooy has also worked as an assistant with the Netherlands national team under Guus Hiddink and Ronald Koeman.
The Dutchman returned to United in the summer as part of Ten Hag’s coaching staff.
