Ruben Amorim has suggested he is ready to give youngster Ayden Heaven a consistent run in the Manchester United first-team.

Heaven left Arsenal in January to join United for a modest fee of £1.5million, becoming the second youngster to swap north London for Manchester following Chido Obi’s move in September.

Heaven was immediately added to United’s first-team squad having managed just one senior appearance for Arsenal, making his debut off the club in the FA Cup defeat against Fulham at the beginning of March.

The teenager came off the bench against his former club last time out in the Premier League, replacing the injured Leny Yoro at half-time.

On Thursday night, he was handed his first start in the Europa League clash against Real Sociedad, preferred to Victor Lindelof to help United ease to a 4-1 victory.

With Lisandro Martinez out for the season and Yoro expected to miss this weekend’s game against Leicester City, Heaven could be handed another start after impressing in his early outings in United colours.

‘If he continues like that he’s going to play,’ Amorim said on Friday.

‘Of course he’s young, he didn’t play much this season maybe just 45 minutes for the Under-21s then a few minutes here and now a full game.’

The United boss went onto name three key attributes he sees in Heaven, describing the 18-year-old as ‘quite complete’ despite his tender years.

‘I really like his confidence, I like his pace, I think he’s good in defending the box.

‘He’s quite complete but he has a lot of work to do.

‘In the Premier League he will face a different kind of player and he will be tested in a different way so we are trying to manage this because he is still really young.’

United head to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester in their final game before the March international break.

The two sides have already met three times across all competitions this season, with United winning all of them.

Ruud van Nistelrooy guided United to wins in the reverse Premier League fixture and the Carabao Cup in November before taking on the Foxes job at the end of the month.

United needed a very late winner from Harry Maguire to get themselves over the line in the FA Cup fourth round meeting last month.
