Former Manchester United striker, Louis Saha, has picked Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo as a better player than Argentina captain Lionel Messi.

According to Saha, Ronaldo’s legacy in football is more complete than Messi, who recently won the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, is considered one of the best players in the game’s history because of his stellar careers for both club and country.

The 37-year-old, who is currently a free agent, has scored a whopping 819 goals and provided 266 assists in 1145 games for Portugal, Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Saha chose Ronaldo ahead of Messi when asked for his opinion on the eternal GOAT debate between the pair.

The Frenchman said: “Cristiano Ronaldo’s legacy is, for me, more complete. When you look at the quality, he can do everything, he doesn’t need as much support as maybe Messi might require.

“But I still respect the latter’s natural talent. They’re too different to try and compare.”
