There appears to be full compliance with the nationwide industrial action by the Organized Labor, in Rivers State, comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, following the disagreement between the federal government and the unions over a new national minimum wage.
Newspot monitors the compliance level in the state and reports that banks, government primary and secondary schools and state government agencies are shut down.
Newspot further reports that the gates to the state secretariat have been closed, with security personnel refusing entry to anyone, including civil servants.
This marks a significant level of compliance by the Rivers State Civil Service, one that has not been observed in several years during industrial actions by labour unions.
