The All Progressives Congress has accused the Rivers State Government of stifling businesses in the state following an injunction restraining Spar Market from going ahead with its scheduled Black Friday sales.
The state APC Publicity Secretary, Darlington Nwauju, who stated this in Port Harcourt, said it was wrong for the government to shut any business, especially when no offence was committed.
Nwauju said the Governor Nyesom Wike-led government had failed in the area of job creation and should not clamp down on businesses.
He said the action of the state government was to give an undue advantage to a new outlet with the same offerings and called on the Consumer Protection Council to rise to the occasion.
