Rites of passage for the late wife of former governor of Oyo State, Oba (Senator) Rashidi Ladoja, Olori Tinuade (Nee Ayamolowo) begin tomorrow Saturda 14 December with Islamic prayers at the Bodija, Ibadan residence of her husband.
A foremost Christian woman leader and Woman President of the Aladura Movement Olori Ladoja passed on last month after a brief illness. She was aged 71.
A top family source said Islamic clerics will hold prayers for the soul of its departed matriarch at the Ondo Street, Bodija residence of Oba Ladoja between 8am and 9am on Saturday.
The event is a prelude to weeklong activities to celebrate the life and times of Mrs. Ladoja.
The Pastor and Spiritual Head, Celestial Church of Christ, CCC Worldwide, Rev. Emmanuel Mobiyina Friday Oshoffa, will lead other church ministers across the world to officiate at a service of songs at the church’s Rehoboth International Family Cathedral , Oke Ado, Ibadan at 11am on Monday 16 December according to a funeral programme announced by her family and the CCC Worldwide where she sat, until her demise, as the only woman on the Council of Pastors, one of the church’s highest decision -making organs.
Other services of songs will take place at the Salem Evangelical Christ’s Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Ilupeju-Obanikoro, Lagos at 12noon on Tuesday 17 December and CCC branch at Agidingbi, Lagos at 5pm on Wednesday 18 December.
A Christian wake-keep/night of tributes follows on Thursday 19 December at the Police College, Ikeja by 5pm while internment hold the next day Friday 20 December after the lying-in-state of the body between 8am and 9am and funeral service at the Bemil Chapel of Epiphany on Bemil Road, Ojodu-Berger, Lagos,
The programme, the statement issued by Titilola Idakula and Bolatito Egwumba said, funeral activities would be be rounded off on Sunday 22 December with a thanksgiving service at her main church, CCC Unity, Ikeja, Lagos.
An astute business entrepreneur, philanthropist and woman of incredible faith and evangelical passion, Olori Ladoja is held in high esteem within her church and the Aladura Movement for her commitment, contribution and services towards the growth of the church.
Called Prophetess Mother Celestial , she surprised many when at age 60, she went into the seminary and bagged a degree in theology.
A widely travelled and professionally trained secretary, she had a stint working as Secretary at the Southern Atlantic Oil Services before settling to a career working in diplomatic service including serving at the Nigerian Embassy in Cotonou, Republic of Benin in the course of which she met her husband, Oba Ladoja.
She had three daughters of which two are by previous marriage.
