The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has announced the list of the Standing Committees.
Abubakar Bichi was given the Committee on Appropriations, with Idu Igariwey as the deputy chairman, while James Faleke retained the Committee on Finance.
Muktar Betara has been moved to the Committee on Federal Capital Territory, while Akin Alabi is the new Chairman of the Committee on Works.
Bamidele Salami as the Chairman of the Committee on Public Account. Former Speaker Idris Wase as the Chairman of Federal Character.
Before making the announcement, Mr Abbas appealed to his colleagues to accept the list, noting that there is nothing like juicy committees.
“My dear Colleagues, you would recall that the leadership of the House has consistently assured members of its resolve to be fair to all, irrespective of political leanings and affiliations.
“There is no grade ‘A’ nor the so-called ‘juicy committees’ as some erroneously often think. Every committee of the House enjoys equal status, powers and privileges as mere working groups to discharge the mandate given to us by our constituents,” he said.
