Rep Umaru proposes constitutional amendment for new constituency in Nasarawa North

Rep Jeremiah Umaru has put forth a bill in the House of Representatives seeking the creation of an additional constituency in Nasarawa North, Nasarawa State.

The first-term lawmaker unveiled his proposal in a statement released on Friday, revealing that the bill is slated for its initial reading.

Umaru stated that the establishment of this new constituency would play a vital role in ensuring fair distribution of resources and representation.

According to him, the bill revolves around amending the Constitution to carve out Nasarawa Eggon Federal Constituency from the existing Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency.

While expressing gratitude to his constituents for their unwavering support, Rep. Umaru reiterated his dedication to tackling the numerous challenges confronting the Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency.

Though elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the lawmaker stressed the importance of unity in propelling the constituency towards greater development and prosperity.
