Content creator and activist, Adebowale Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has reacted after Delta State College of Nursing Sciences, Agbor, queried a student for publishing the controversial welcome song for the first lady Oluremi Tinubu, on her TikTok page.
Recall that during Mrs Tinubu’s visit to Delta State for the Renewed Hope Initiative Health Programme at the Dome Event Center in Asaba on March 25, 2025, there was mild drama as some nursing students openly rejected a song that referred to the First Lady as their mother.
The incident sparked controversy after a clip from the event went viral on social media.
Consequently, the management of the Delta State College of Nursing Sciences queried one Nurse Osato Edobe for engaging in “malicious act of recording/singing and posting unofficial response to song during the arrival of the First Lady” on her TikTok page.
The query letter dated 27 March 2025 and signed by the Provost, Evbodagbe Rita Ogonne, has been receiving criticisms since surfacing online.
Joining the chorus of criticisms, Mr Macaroni queried the institution for threatening students because of a song and refusing to deny their mothers.
Sharing the query letter via his X handle, he wrote, “Delta State College of Nursing Sciences is threatening a student with disciplinary action because of song???
“The students say dem sabi their mama!! Students wey their mama dey work hard to give them better life.. una wan come expel them because them refuse to deny their mama? Na by force?”
