Real Madrid suffered injury concerns with Federico Valverde and David Alaba during their 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Champions League holders face a mountain to climb in the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu next week as two superb free-kicks from Declan Rice, plus an excellent finish from Mikel Merino, sealed a deserved win for Mikel Arteta’s side at the Emirates Stadium.
Madrid will be without Eduardo Camavinga, who was sent off in injury time for a second yellow card.
But Carlo Ancelotti may also be without both Federico Valverde and David Alaba, who reported ‘discomfort’ after the defeat according to The Athletic.
It’s understood that Alaba and Valverde have not suffered serious injuries, but will undergo further tests with Madrid’s medical department.

Madrid are now due to play away to Alaves in La Liga on Sunday before hosting Arsenal in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie next Wednesday.
Speaking after Madrid’s defeat, Ancelotti admitted a comeback int he second leg will be ‘very, very difficult’.
‘Today they [Arsenal] showed a better attitude, quality, and many other things they did better than us,’ Ancelotti said.
‘In our criticism, we have to be quite honest – for an hour, the team wasn’t bad. But if you only look at the result, it seems like everything should be thrown away. And that’s not the case.
‘The result is very, very difficult to overturn but there were things, in the first half, that we did quite well. We had a couple of opportunities to take the lead.
‘It’s also true that we played against a very strong team, which worked hard and was physically at a very high level.’
