Lil Baby and his bodyguard have been fined for possession of cannabis while in Paris, according to reports.

The US rapper, 26, whose real name is Dominique Armani Jones, was arrested and spent Thursday night in custody being questioned according to CBS News, before being released on Friday morning.

Lil Baby had been in France for Paris Fashion Week when the incident occurred and was with NBA sear James Harden at the time of his arrest, though the basketball player wasn’t arrested or suspected of any crime.

Harden was seen speaking to police, telling them: ‘I don’t understand’, in footage shared by a fan on Twitter.

French newspaper Le Parisien reported that police said they had checked a vehicle which smelled like cannabis at around 4.30pm.

Lil Baby had been at Balenciaga’s show on Wednesday, which was also attended by Kanye West and Lewis Hamilton.

The rapper and Harden have struck up a friendship over music, with Harden also having a producer credit on the rapper’s latest track with Lil Durk, The Voice Of The Heroes.

He later took to Twitter to reassure fans he was fine following the arrest, tweeting: ‘I’m good’, with a raised hands emoji.

A post on Instagram also later saw him hold up a middle finger in the mirror of a shop, telling his followers: ‘Back at it.’

Lil Baby is also due to perform at Wireless Festival this autumn, alongside stars including Skepta, Migos and Future who are headlining.

This year’s festival will move to Crystal Palace Park in south London and will run from September 10-12.
