Chelsea legend, John Terry, has hailed Argentina captain, Lionel Messi, after his impressive display in La Albiceleste’s FIFA World Cup semi-final 3-0 win against Croatia on Tuesday.
Terry described Messi’s performance against Croatia as ‘phenomenal’.
A goal from Messi and a brace from Julian Alvarez ensured Argentina defeated Croatia at the Lusail Iconic Stadium and booked a place in the World Cup final.
Reacting, Terry, in a tweet via his Twitter handle after the game, also branded the Paris Saint-Germain star as the Greatest of All Time (GOAT).
“Phenomenal (GOAT),” Terry tweeted. “That is some performance tonight from Messi.”
Messi’s goal against Croatia was his 11th goal at the FIFA World Cup.
The former Barcelona captain is now Argentina’s top scorer in the tournament’s history.
