The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, says the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, deployed aircraft in Gombe State after the #EndBadgovernance protest was hijacked by unscrupulous elements.

According to him, “the situation called for extra security measures”.

A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, AVM Edward Gabkwet, stressed that the aircraft was deployed for reconnaissance missions.

According to the statement, the Air Force’s regiment forces joined other security agencies in quelling the unrest.

The Chief of Air Staff stated that realising the wanton destruction of lives and property during the recent protest in the state by unscrupulous elements, the need for extra security measures became necessary.
