President Biden has Done the Right thing to Pardon his Son Before He Quits By Wumi Akintide

If I were President Biden, and if I find myself in exactly the same predicament, I would gladly pardon my son for the kind of crimes and offenses for which he has been charged and convicted.

I see a compelling reason to explain why I have described the American Presidency arguably the most powerful Seat of Power in the World as the “damn” Presidency for a lack of a better adjective to use.

I would never have used that word while the great George Washington or many of his successors like Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Dwight Einsenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Baines Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush Senior, and Barack Hussein Obama were all in power because none of them was ever involved in a series of scandal like Mr. Trump. They were never associated with such crimes during all of their tenure in office and I cherish all of them.

Joe Biden would have made that list in my book but for his mistake to have appointed and not to have quickly removed Merrick Garland when it became clear to him and many in his Administration that the man was qualified to be a Supreme Court Judge but was damn too slow and damn too timid and scared of Criminals in general for him to be an Attorney General and the Chief Law Enforcement of a Super Power like America.

I was among the few freelance journalists who recommended the removal of Merrick Garland within one year of his appointment but Joe Biden did not listen to such advice, sad to say.

Merrick Garland as Attorney General holds the power of life deathat DOJ.

If he was in the Supreme Court he would have had to share power with 8 other Judges.

He would have had to contend with those 8 Judges but as an Attorney General of the United States his only Boss was the President who had assured him from the beginning he was going to allow him to run the DOJ without any political interference and who kept his promise to the letter for all of his 4 years as President.

Merrick Garland had waited too long to charge Donald Trump and in so doing he had completely forgotten the maxim that “Justice delayed is Justice denied”

That was one of the reasons that Donald Trump had gotten away scot-free with all of the serial crimes he had committed prior to and during his 4 years as President from 2017 to 2021.

I put all of those blames on Merrick Garland and Joe Biden who appointed him.

But the same Merrick Garland who was too scared to touch Donald Trump with a 10 foot poll was only too ready and happy to indict Mr. Hunter the son of a sitting President who got hooked on drugs which impaired his judgment to a point that he could no longer differentiate between wrong and right but had to be charged to prove a point that Merrick Garland was bold and fair and not intimidated by anyone however powerful.

I agree that the Law should not be a respecter of persons. If you are guilty of a crime, you ought to be punished but you could be pardoned after serving your jail time regardless of who you are, in a country where nobody is said to be above the law like Mr. Trump has now proved to be, sad to say.

It is clear to anyone in America that if the roles were reversed and any of the children of Donald Trump had committed a crime while he was President, his Attorney General would never have been allowed to charge his son or daughter under any circumstance.

Everybody in America including Joe Biden now knows that for a fact.

Joe Biden would have been viewed as a weak and crazy old man to not do what he has just done with understandable courage.

His decision to finally grant a full pardon to his son Hunter for all the reasons he has given, is a correct decision in my opinion and I hundred percent support it

What is good for the Donald should be good for the Hunter as brilliantly analyzed and concluded by Don Lemon in his popular platform on You Tube a few days ago.

If I were Joe Biden. I would pardon my son for the reasons he has given.

I would not take a chance and leave it to a vendetta- driven character like Donald Trump to be the one to do it for me. A bird in the hand is worth a million in the Bush. I would have done it like he did and damn the consequence.

But I would also have handled the move a little bit differently.

I would have given a hint long before now that my son was being singled out for criminal indictment to embarrass me because I am President and that I am going to revisit his case before I leave office.

I would have been stressing that point at every opportunity before I leave office, so it would not have come as a surprise to anyone when I finally make the decision

You all can say anything you like about Donald Trump.

I admire the man for being a brave and bold President who knows and understands how to wield and to use power.

I like Trump for that. That is why I would praise and eulogize Mr. Trump when he does something good and constructive but I would not hesitate to criticize and to condemn him when he does something bad or very negative.

Why not if not?

That is what Democracy demands and calls for until it is changed.

I rest my case.
