The Police has rescued 20-year old Hadiza Chado from the kidnappers’ den in Jigawa and apprehended 14 suspects in the process.
Mr Aliyu Tafida, the Commissioner of Police disclosed this to newsmen in Dutse on Thursday.
The Commissioner said Hadiza Chado was kidnapped on the 8th of January 2022 at Marma village in Kirikasamma local government area of the state.
He explained that the victim was rescued from the kidnappers unhurt on Wednesday, 26th January 2022, after the Police raided the suspected kidnappers’ den in Suletankarkar local government area.
He explained that the police also raided three criminal hideouts, namely, Dajin Maizuwo, Dan Gwanki and Yandamo villages in the area during the operation.
Tafida said the 14 suspects comprised of 10 males and four females, two of whom sustained injuries as a result of gunfire exchange.
He added, “Three AK-47 rifles, nine magazines and 308 live animations of 7.6mm, one burnt General Purpose Machine Gun with its two empty chains were recovered.”
He said the Police also recovered one Toyota Hummer bus, nine motorcycles, one cutlass, six mobile phones, 12 SIM cards and five memory cards.
