Police recover Abuja stolen car in Katsina, burst syndicate

Based on a tip-off, a police patrol team attached to Malumfashi Division in Katsina State has arrested two suspected car thieves with a motor vehicle allegedly stolen from the Kuje area of Abuja.

The two suspects identified as Aminu Musa and Kabiru Sa’idu, both of Ketare village in Kankara Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, were accosted by a team of policemen in Dayi, Malumfashi LGA with a black coloured Honda Civic vehicle with registration number: ABC 800 SL.

In the course of interrogation, the duo confessed to having stolen the vehicle at Kuje Area in Abuja.

In a related development, the Katsina Police Command also succeeded in busting another five-man syndicate of car thieves who conspired and stole a green coloured, year 2000 Toyota Camry model with registration number KTN 918 DK, belonging to one Idris Muhammed Garba, of Kashe Naira Quarters in Mashi LGA of the state.

According to SP Gambo, nemesis caught up with the suspects in Bauchi when they were arrested by a police team after confessing to having committed the crime.

He also said the vehicle has been recovered.

SP Gambo gave the names of the five suspects as follows: Babangida Danjuma 30, of Sabuwar Unguwa Quarters, Katsina, Muhammadu Abdurahaman 25, of Kofar Kaura Quarters, Katsina Nasiru Lawal 19, of Sheka Makaranta Quarters, Kano State, Abdullahi B. Muhamud 40, of Watin Dada Quarters, Bauchi State and Ibrahim, of Jos, Plateau State (currently at large).
