The Kano State Police Command has paraded 123 suspected criminals terrorizing the state and its environs.
Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Dauda, disclosed this while giving an update on the achievements recorded by the command within 30 days of his deployment.
He said the success was recorded as part of its effort to fight all forms of crime and criminality in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba.
“We have arrested 18 armed robbery suspects, 17 kidnapping suspects, eight suspected fraudsters, 21 motor vehicle thieves, nine ticycles thieves, seven suspected drug dealers, 43 suspected thugs (Yan Daba),” he stated.
“During the period, we have also rescued four kidnapping victims and made recovery of eight rifles, 28 motor vehicles, eight tricycles, 11 motorcycles, 630 bundles of women’s wrappers, 622 textile materials, 156 moblie phones, three sacks and 275 parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
“Other recoveries are 19 packets and 10 cartons of suspected rubber solution, 288 packets of suspected tramadol tablets.”
The commissioner, however, urged the general public to always report any suspicious movement, items, or criminal activities to the police and other security agencies.
