A 44-year-old private security officer named Damilola Otegba, has been arrested for attempting to have unlawful carnal knowledge with a 6-year-old girl (name withheld) inside the premises of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun state.
The suspect reportedly took the survivor upstairs into a building where he works, removed his manhood, inserted it into her mouth and also laid behind her before he was caught.
Newspot learnt that a yet-to-be-identified female FUNAAB student had walked in on them, raised an alarm, attracting the attention of the institution’s Chief Security Officer.
The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirming the incident Newspot on Thursday, said the child’s mother, Sherifat Bakare, reported the incident at about 10:10 pm on Wednesday.
According to Odutola, Bakare, is a food vendor inside the campus had gone to the market to get some things when her younger brother called to inform her of the situation.
Odutola said, “A private security man who left his guard duties and attempted to have unlawful carnal knowledge of a six year old female, inside a building in the university but with timely interventions of another female, the predator was arrested.
“On Wednesday at about 10:10 pm, one Sherifat Bakare ‘f’ a food vendor at FUNAAB came to the station and reported that while she was away to the markey to buy some things she received a call from her younger brother, one Seyi Bakare ‘m’ whom she left to oversee the shop and her daughter, that while he was looking for one of her daughter, 6 years of age, the said daughter ran into the shop panting in fears.
“When he inquired of where she had been, why she was frightful and nervous, she responded that Damilola Otegba, a 44-year-old private sheriff security officer attached to a building inside the school, took her upstairs into the building where he works, brought out his manhood and inserted it into her mouth.
“She added that he also took her to a corner and removed his trouser, laid behind her and while refusing his advances a female FUNAAB student yet unknown who was not aware that the child was in danger strayed in and inquired what the man was doing with her.”
Odutola noted that the command’s FUNAAB Harmony Division acted quickly after receiving the report, arrested the culprit, and started a preliminary investigation.
She added that the minor was taken to the school clinic for medical examination and the suspect will be transferred to the State criminal investigation department for further inquiry and likely prosecution.
