The new Professional Fighters League season continues this week as Kayla Harrison begins her bid to become a three-time lightweight champion.

The two-time Olympic gold medal winner was briefly the hottest free agent in mixed martial arts before committing to another season with the PFL this year in order to defend her crown.

Harrison takes on the undefeated Marina Mokhnatkina in the PFL 3 main event with last year’s welterweight champion Ray Cooper III also getting his campaign up and running against Carlos Leal

Like Harrison, Cooper secured his second $1million cheque lat October after securing a devastating knockout win over Magomed Magomedkerimov to solidify his status as one of the best 170lbs fighters on the planet.

Former UFC champion Anthony Pettis endured a false start in his maiden PFL campaign last year, losing his first two fights with the promotion after arriving from UFC.

His latest test is against Irish fighter Myles Price who is looking to make an instant impact in what will be his first contest since a victory over countryman Peter Queally at Bellator 217 back in February 2019.

Another former UFC name and Bellator champion Rory MacDonald also features on the card as he begins his campaign against Brett Cooper.

Unlike UFC and Bellator, PFL operates under a regular season format culminating in play-offs and a final championship night. Winners across eight different weight divisions walk away with a world title and a cheque for a cool $1million.

When is PFL 3?

In February, PFL announced a huge television deal with Channel 4 who are the promotion’s exclusive broadcast partner in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.
