The members of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria, PETROAN, and the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, have finally settled their month-long rift over petroleum product lifting at the Port Harcourt depot and other locations across the country, Newspot reports.
In a document sighted by Newspot on Wednesday, both associations resolved to end the disagreement and thereafter set up a joint batching committee to guarantee seamless operations.
A reliable source at one of the unions told Newspot that the committee, made up of four nominees from IPMAN and three from PETROAN, would ensure the security of petroleum products across the country.
Newspot reports that PETROAN and IPMAN had been at loggerheads over dominance at the nation’s depots since they both brokered an agreement with Dangote Refinery for direct petrol purchase.
