Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the February election, has expressed shock over the death of 15 members of Salvation Army Ministry in an auto crash.
Obi disclosed this through his official Twitter handle on Saturday.
Recall that on Thursday, Salvation Army Ministry members died from an accident along the Benin-Lagos expressway.
Newspot learnt that the unfortunate incident occurred at a bridge across the Ovia River, close to Benin City, the Edo State capital.
Consequently, 12 pastors, a baby and the driver died while others were hospitalized.
Reacting to the accident, Obi commiserated with the bereaved families and the Salvation Army Ministry.
“I received with shock the heartwrenching report of a fatal road accident involving members of the Salvation Army. “I pray for the quick recovery of the injured. May God grant eternal rest to the dead”, he wrote.
Similarly, the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, and Akwa Ibom state Governor, Umo Eno condoled with the families of those who died and the Salvation Army Ministry.
