The Abia State chapter of the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, has said that it is mobilizing funds to rebuild the Ariaria Police Station in Aba to enhance security for residents.
The station was among the public structures destroyed in October 2020 by unknown persons who hijacked the #EndSARS protest in Abia to wreak havoc.
Speaking at the monthly security meeting of the PCRC at the Police Officers’ Mess in Umuahia, the Abia State Chairman of the Committee, Iheanyi Igboanulam, said that the group is also engaging in community consultations to revive the Umuopara Police Division.
Igboanulam stated that the full return of police operations in the stations would further boost security efforts for a safer environment in the affected areas.
The Abia PCRC Chairman, who called for more collective efforts from members, thanked them for their support.
During the monthly security meeting, security reports from Eziama Central Police Division, Umuahia, and Isuikwuato Divisions were presented.
