Paul Scholes has identified Chelsea’s two biggest weak links ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Brighton at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues host the Seagulls full of confidence after winning their last three matches in all competitions without conceding a goal.

Chelsea beat AFC Bournemouth 1-0 and made it back-to-back Premier League victories with a 3-0 win over West Ham.

Enzo Maresca’s side then smashed Barrow AFC 5-0 in the Carabao Cup to book their spot in the fourth round.

Scholes, though, has named two areas in which Chelsea should be ‘worried’, suggesting they need to take a look at their goalkeeper and centre-forwards.

‘We were saying Maresca is going to be the first one gone,’ Scholes told The Overlap.

‘These results have almost calmed things down. You look at the squad there is a lot of talent.

‘[But] I’m a little bit worried about the centre-forward to be honest. [And] I’m worried about the keeper a little bit.’

Robert Sanchez has been deployed as Chelsea’s No.1 goalkeeper so far this season and he helped the Blues to two straight top-flight clean sheets before he was rested against Barrow.

As for the centre-forward position, Chelsea have somewhat of a dilemma, due to the glowing form of both Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku.

Maresca says it’s a ‘nice problem’ to have two strikers in form after Nkunku’s hat-trick against Barrow but doubts he can play him and Jackson at the same time.

‘They’re both doing fantastic,’ the Chelsea head coach said. ‘Not only because they score, but because they work off the ball. The way they sacrifice for the team. This is very important for them.’

Pressed whether it might be possible for them to soon start together, he added: ‘It could be. But the problem is the defensive balance. We can think to place with Nicolas, Christo, Joao [Felix], Cole Palmer, Noni [Madueke], fantastic! But then who is defending? Me and you?’
