The commissioner had following the attack on the chairman of Oyo State sports Council, Mr Gbenga Adewusi, condemned, the act, which to him, was capable of derailing the peace hitherto enjoyed in the state and the sports community in general.
The commissioner assured that all those involved in the heinous crime shall face the full wrath of law as a measure of preventing future occurrences
It would be recalled that problem started when supporters of Shooting Stars protested against the home draw with the visiting MFM Football club of Lagos.
In course of the protest, the protesters according to eye witnesses account inadvertently vent anger on the chairman who blocked the way in his attempt to stop the protesters. It was after the altercation that they realised that the person attacked was the chairman of the Oyo State sports Council. Part of the grievances of the protesters was that they lost money,as they have hitherto staked winning in favour of their home club, the Shooting Stars.
