The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, Toyin Amuzu, has reacted to the judgment of the Appeal Court sitting in Ibadan which reinstated all the candidates of the PDP in Ogun State. Amuzu said the judgment which returned him and others back to the ballot is a victory for democracy.
Amuzu thanked the people of the state for “their steadfastness and solidarity with the PDP” since September 27 when an Abeokuta Federal High Court sacked all PDP candidates.
The candidate said the judiciary, being the last hope of the people, has restored confidence that the country would be great again, saying “hope is on the way for better governance in Ogun State.”
He noted that the judgement was won on merit, expressing joy that the appellate court has affirmed that only a National body of the party can nominate and conduct a primary election for the party.
“Those trying to work to destabilize the PDP for the ruling party are only wasting their time as the electoral act was clear on the process.”
Chief Amuzu, who assured the Ogun people that hope is on the way, said the PDP with its years of experience in governance would improve the lives of the citizenry and restore their hope.
“The people are tired of insecurity, poverty, economic doldrums and joblessness among others as forced on them by the mismanagement and maladministration of the ruling APC,” he stated.
