In a remarkable showcase of creativity and innovation, Hon. Oluwapelumi Ojo recently engaged with H.E. Pasquale Salvaggio, the Canadian High Commissioner, at the prestigious Nike Art Gallery in Abuja. This event celebrated the profound creativity of women, highlighting the invaluable contributions they make to society.

During the visit, Ojo introduced the High Commissioner to the extraordinary dinosaur monument at the Scrap Art Museum in Ile-Ife. Crafted from 3,000 discarded waste tires by renowned artist Toyeeb Ajayi, this stunning piece epitomizes the commitment to sustainability and the circular economy, embodying not only artistic brilliance but also environmental consciousness. The High Commissioner was particularly impressed to learn that the Nike Art Gallery also has its roots in Osun State, the birthplace of the iconic adire fabric.

Ojo spoke passionately about Osun State as a vibrant hub of artistic expression and cultural heritage, emphasizing that the state is more than just Lagos and Abuja. “Here in Osun, history whispers through every creation, and the future is sculpted from the materials of the past,” she stated. The artwork in Osun not only captivates the eye but also tells stories of resilience and imagination, urging the global community to witness the creative renaissance unfolding in the region.
