Following the July 15 bloody armed robbery attack on an old generation bank in Ondo State, some officials of the bank have been invited by the police for questioning.
Some of the senior staff of the United Bank of Africa, UBA, Ilara-Mokin branch, where the attack took place were quizzed by the detectives of the Ondo State Police Command.
Dare-devil armed robbers had last week Thursday launched an attack on the bank in Ifedore Local Government Area of the state, where three persons were killed among whom was an ace broadcast journalist in the state and Public Relations Officer of Elizade University, Olubunmi Afuye, popularly known as ‘Bumbam’.
The robbers were said to have carted away over N2 million after the operation that lasted about 20 minutes.

It was gathered that some of the bank’s officials were at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, where they were said to have been questioned on how the incident happened and possibly ascertain the amount carted away by the bandits.
According to sources at the police headquarters, it was imperative for the police to extend an invitation to the senior bank officials as investigation into the matter progresses.
Shortly after the attack the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Bolaji Salami, set up a team of investigators from SCIID to unravel the cause of the incident and as well mandated the team to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Also, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu gave a matching order to all security agencies, including Amotekun, to, as a matter of urgency, fish out the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
