Ogunccima to Hold 12th Edition of International Trade Fair in Ogun State

The Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) in collaboration with State Government have concluded arrangements for the 12th editions of the Gateway International Tradefair scheduled to hold between 3rd – 13th February, 2023.

The President of the Chambers Engr Mike Akingbade made this known at a press conference, adding that the fair has the theme, ’Energy and Agriculture as Panacea to Economic and Sustainable Multi-Sectoral Growth: Ogun Pathway to Economic Prosperity

He explained that the fair holding at the Moshood Abiola International Trade Fair Complex, Abeokuta, is an annual event where every different corporate bodies at small, medium and large scale levels as well as relevant government agencies institution to showcase their products and services.

Akingbade added that participants would also promote new businesses and technological innovations, stressing that the event is equally meant to create business awareness and examine global market trends

‘This year’s edition of Gateway International Trade Fair is intended to serve as a melting pot fro cross pollination of business ideas amongst trade and industry practitioners, business idealists aaaaaaand economic policy makers’, he emphasized

The President of the chambers expressed appreciation of the chambers to Governor Dapo Abiodun for the unwavering support of his administration to organize successful tradefair since inception.

‘I therefore wish to use this opportunity to call on all stakeholders, participating corporate organisations, government institutions, exhibitors, prospective customers and patrons to lend their support towards ensuring the success of the 12th Gateway International Trade Fair’, he stated

The Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Kikelomo Longe in her remarks explained that, in order to have Ogun State standard trade fair, the Ministry has taken it upon itself to personally invite notable businesses in the state to grace the programme with their products and services

Represented by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Olu Ola-Aikulola ,the commissioner said she was convinced that this year’s fair will be far better in terms of preparation and participation compared to last year edition

‘In addition, as collaborator in the Gateway Trade Fair, we would do everything within our power to make sure that civil servants, public servants and our people in and around the state partake in and patronize the trade fair’, she stated

Former National President National Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Iyalode Alaba Lawson in her short remarks noted that the theme of the fair was relevant at this point in time

The Chambers first female President, however, encouraged participants from Ogun State to come out in large number to exhibit their products, adding that charity should begin from home, and also expressed optimism that this year fair is going to be another best in the series
