Two men have been arrested in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, for allegedly stabbing a trader, Taiwo Toheeb, to death.
The command said on Thursday that the businessman used to trade in buying and reselling of fairly-used motorcycles.
On April 11, the man was said to have sold a bike to one Abdul Azeez, at the rate of N200,000.
The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, informed journalists on Thursday that the two suspects, Mudashiru Sodiq and Taiwo Okewande, had approached Toheeb at the Ago-Ika area of Abeokuta and demanded their share of the N200,000 paid to him by the buyer.
“When he refused to give them money, they attacked him and stabbed him in the abdomen with a broken bottle.
“The victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, but he died while receiving treatment.
“The suspects were subsequently arrested,” the CP said.
