Ogun Transport Union asks for loans, return of daily tickets

Union of Tipper and Quarry Employers of Nigeria, Ogun State chapter, has appealed to the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, to grant loans, and purchase trucks for its members as part of an empowerment programme.

The union also urged the governor to reinstate daily ticketing, as a way
of generating money for the association.

The transport association made the appeal in a statement signed by its state chairman, Taiwo Oyeneye, to congratulate the governor on his re-election.

Oyeneye in the statement, urged the state government, to implement an open-door policy that would provide an enabling environment for truck drivers and employers in the state.

While lauding the reelection of Gov. Dapo Abiodun, at the just concluded governorship election, he said it was an expression of the will of the people

The union chairman, who doubles as the Baale of Oluwo Onikolobo, in Abeokuta, stressed that the victory was well deserved, in view of the positive impact of Abiodun’s administration, on the lives of the people of the state.

However, he pleaded with the governor to be magnanimous in victory, adding that the people of Ogun State should expect more landmark projects.

Oyeneye said: “The transport union which has thousands of its members across the state maintain that Abiodun’s re-election was divine and promise to give full support to his administration.

“This congratulatory statement was issued after our general meeting, and it was signed by the whole house.

“We hereby appreciate the Secretary to Ogun State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, for his open-door policy. We also do not also forget the State Secretary of the party, Prince Adeleke Aderibigbe Tella for giving us a better chance, and always being there for us, anytime our Union needs the assistance of the state government,” he lauded.
