A Nigerian nurse who identifies as Osato Ebohor has been issued a query by her institution over a video she posted online.

Recall that a video capturing nursing students declining to address Remi Tinubu as mother had surfaced on the internet.

In reaction to the viral clip the management of Delta State College of Nursing Sciences queried the student responsible for recording and posting the video.

A part of the query letter read;

“It has come to the notice of the school authority that you, Osato Ebohor, on the 25th of March, 2025 during the official visit of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu was found to be engage in malicious act of recording/singing and posting unofficial response to song during the arrival of the First Lady (found on your TikTok page). This is punishable offence as enshrined in the student handbook under standardized disciplinary action for some punishable offences No. 8, Page 21. You are therefore requested to explain in writing in triplicate copies within 24hours of receipt of this letter why disciplinary action should not be taken against you for this act.”

This institution’s action has sparked outrage online, with many stating that freedom of speech is no longer guaranteed in this country.
