Mr Muhyi Magaji Rimingado, the reinstated Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anticorruption Commission, has resumed duty, assuring of no victimisation but more work.

Rimingado said this in a statement he issued on Saturday after addressing the staff of the commission and consulting with stakeholders in Kano, a copy of which was made available to The Punch on Sunday.

The chairman allayed their fears and anxiety that they would be victimised for betraying him or take revenge on all those responsible for his predicament.

“I assure you that I won’t look back. What happened is destined to happen.

“So, there is no time to waste on victimising anybody for betrayal or taking revenge on persons that schemed my suspension.

“It is all history today as we are vindicated by competent courts of law. We move on with our mandate,” he charged the workers.

He however advised them to buckle up for more work as they would be expected to perform optimally and deliver on given tasks within timeframes.

Rimingado, therefore, solicited their maximum support and cooperation to combat corruption in the state and upscale public trust in government.

Recall that Rimingado was first suspended from office for a month in July 2021, by former governor Abdullahi Ganduje over sundry allegations of rejecting to work with an accounts officer posted from the state ministry of finance.

Ganduje later terminated his appointment in January 2022, while Rimingado filed a suit before the National Industrial Court in Abuja and Kano, challenging the actions and seeking redress on his fundamental human rights, respectively.

The courts ruled in his favour and ordered the state government to not only pay all his dues but reinstate him for failing to respect the laws extablishing the anti-graft agency.

Gov. Abba Yusuf on Wednesday announced Rimingado’s immediate reinstatement in compliance with the court order and asked him to complete his five years tenure.
