Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has said there is no plan by his administration to sack civil servants in the State.

Otti, who said this on Friday at the Government House, Umuahia, while speaking to journalists during his monthly media chat, said that workers are rather receiving their salaries regularly.

He, however, warned that no form of truancy would be tolerated among the workers.

The Governor, who reacted to renewed appeals from some non-indigenes who were sacked in the State by one of the previous administrations, said that their appeals for recall to office would be looked into, even as he reiterated that every Abia resident should be treated as a citizen irrespective of his State of origin or tribe.

He confirmed that his administration has donated cash and food items to victims of boundary clash in Isu, Arochukwu LGA and disclosed that Abia and Cross River State governments were doing everything possible to solve the lingering boundary disputes.

Governor Otti also spoke on the recent LP stakeholders’ meeting in Umuahia, and said that the appointment of a Caretaker committee was a step taken to strengthen the party and save it from disappearing.

He dismissed the threat by the Julius Abure-led group to summon him and others to a disciplinary committee.

On the water crisis rocking the Okwoyi community in Umuahia North LGA, the Governor explained that new water projects were ongoing in the State, promising that the challenges of the Okwoyi people and other parts of the State would be addressed soon.
