President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari government to reduce the price of petroleum products.
Wabba spoke with newsmen in Taraba on Tuesday.
He was in Jalingo to commiserate with workers and the family of late NLC Chairman in Taraba, Peter Gambo.
The labour leader says the recent increment in petrol price exploits Nigerians.
He accused the government of enriching oil marketers at the detriment of citizens.
Wabba observed that the price of crude oil in the international markets had not increased lately.
“It is about the exploitation of Nigerians as the Federal Government seems to be protecting the oil marketers rather than defending the citizens.”
Wabba warned the government not to leave control of the commodity to marketers.
“If you say it is because of oil prices which have also not gone up in the international markets then this is a double tragedy,” he declared.
