The Nigerian Law Society (NLS) has constituted an Interim National Executive Committee.
The Chairman of the NLS Board of Trustees, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde, SAN, announced the appointment of members of the Interim National Executive Committee in a statement released on Wednesday.
The statement, signed by Dr Tonye Clinton Jaja, Executive Director of the NLS, said the appointees would serve for a period of one year, effective from Thursday, 1st August, 2024, to Thursday, 31st July, 2025.
Members of the committee, according to the statement, are Chief Mela Audu Nunghe, SAN, President, Hon. Nimi Walson-Jackiii, Vice President South, Mallam Abdulqadir Alhaji Sani, Vice President North, Mr. Steve Abar, General Secretary, Madam Alice Ogaku Awonugba, Assistant General Secretary, Madam Zara Umar Yakub, Financial Secretary, Madam Chioma Ferguson, Treasurer, Mr. Stephen Uchenna Nwankwo (Steve Sun), Publicity Secretary, and Mr. Oluniyi Adediji, Welfare Secretary.
The statement explained that the Nigerian Law Society is the premier professional association for lawyers enrolled as barristers and solicitors of the Supreme Court under the Legal Practitioners Act of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
