The Niger State Government has vowed to investigate and take appropriate disciplinary action against the teacher and principal of the school whose student was captured in viral video lambasting Nigerian leaders.

Newspot reports that a video clip, which went viral last week, captured a student named AbdulKabir AbdulKadir from Kasim Primary School in Agaie expressing anger over the state of the nation.

The student, in his motion during a debate, voiced opposition to compulsory voting in the country, expressing concern that the citizens’ votes have lost significance, citing corrupt leaders.

Reacting, the Niger State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education in a statement signed by its spokesman, Jibrin Usman-Kodo frowned at the development.

According to the statement, the government is worried over the use of “vulgar and violent language” by the pupil.
