Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has sympathized with Borgu Emirate particularly the residents of Agwara local government area over the recent boat mishap that claimed lives.
Bago, in a condolence message by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, described the incident as unfortunate and heartbreaking.
He called on the people of the Agwara, particularly the affected family members, to accept the incident as the will of Allah as He does not make mistakes.
The governor also prayed that Allah would comfort the people of the entire Emirate while praying for the repose of the souls of the departed,
He further prayed for the quick recovery of those who sustained injuries.
The governor equally extended his heartfelt condolences to Kebbi State Governmrbt, Yauri Emirate, over the loss of its residents in the same boat mishap.
A boat conveying over 20 traders, heading to Yauri Fsh Market from Kasabo, Agwara LGA of Niger State, was reported to have capsized recently.
So far, six dead bodies have been recovered out of which four are from Niger State while two are from Kebbi State.
The search is being conducted by local divers and boat owners under the supervision of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA).
