NEWSPOT DAILY TONIC : Circumstances don’t Define you. They Shape you. By Bishop Duke Akamisoko

You’re molded to make a difference. Let your light shine bright, even through the cracks.
ife is a matter of choice! You can either let your circumstances define who you are and be the victim of your environment. Or you can take a stand against those circumstances and decide what kind of future you choose for yourself. The choice is always yours!
t’s easy to get down, depressed, or even discouraged when things aren’t going well.
When this happens to you, how do you get your life turned around? Do you need to wait until things start going right to feel better?
Many people allow their circumstances, or even other people to dictate their happiness, and ultimately their future.
The reason they do this is they don’t realize they are in control of their attitude. They get to choose how to react to their circumstances. They are able to determine how to react to the people in their lives.
What do you focus on?
Too many people focus on what’s going wrong in their lives. When we do this, all we see are the problems. If you’re focused only on the problems, it’s hard to find solutions.
I am not saying ignore the problems. Rather, address the problems with the proper mindset.
If you face a problem thinking “oh great, what’s going to happen next”, you will struggle to find a solution. You will see nothing but problems.
If you face a problem thinking “okay, how can I fix this” or “what can I do to make this better”, you will find many possible solutions to your problem.
ne of the best ways to face your circumstances
is to give your best, is to do your best.
Things will always happen that you cannot control.
The only thing you can control is your thoughts.
When you faced with something,
no matter what it is, do not let it define you.
Do not let your circumstances define who you are.
Instead of dwelling on what you cannot do,
instead of beating yourself up,
why not focus on what you can do
to make your situation better?
When you focus on what you can do, when you focus on yourself,
you grow yourself.
Because you are to grow, not to complain.
You look at things you enjoy in your life, but much more important is what you can do to make the world a better place. Any crusade requires optimism and the ambition to aim high. As a species, we’ve always been discoverers and adventurers, and space and the deep ocean are some of the last frontiers. In my own work, I’ve tried to anticipate what’s coming over the horizon, to hasten its arrival, and to apply it to people’s lives in a meaningful way. I enjoy creating new ideas, working on new creative project. For the most part, the best opportunities now lie where your competitors have yet to establish themselves, not where they’re already entrencheed. In my experience, each failure contains the seeds of your next success–if you are willing to learn from it. You’ve got to enjoy time with your family and friends. What should exist? To me, that’s the most exciting question imaginable. What do we need that we don’t have? How can we realize our potential? The possible is constantly being redefined, and I care deeply about helping humanity move forward. There are relatively few ideas that you can do just by yourself. What we did was unprecedented, but what is less well understood is that we had no choice. There’s going to be reversals. You have to be ready, to be philosophical about that. Others might have found us eccentric, but I didn’t care. I had discovered my calling. I was a programmer.
