The newly elected Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly has vowed to ensure effective collaboration with the executive arm of the government.

The recently elected Speaker, representing Kokona West Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), made this pledge during his acceptance speech following his election and swearing-in ceremony on Friday in Lafia.

Jatau, while expressing gratitude to his colleagues for the trust placed in him, emphasised his commitment to an open-door policy that aims to create an inclusive environment that ensures all members of the assembly feel a sense of belonging.

He further pledged to promote unity among house members and collaborate with other arms of the government to contribute to the overall development of Nasarawa State.

Newspot reports that 26-year-old Mohammed Oyanki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was elected as the Deputy Speaker.
