Nemanja Matic says Manchester United forwards Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford are the best dribblers in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.

The two United academy graduates have been key for the Red Devils under Solskjaer, with Rashford’s recent return from injury a welcome boost.

The 24-year-old missed the initial stages of the season after undergoing surgery on his shoulder in the summer, but has scored three goals in six games across all competitions since staging his comeback last month.

Meanwhile, Greenwood, who enjoyed a breakthrough season in the 2019/20 campaign, has continued his rise this term, scoring four Premier League goals so far and impressing with his rare ability to use both feet.

Despite having £73million summer signing Jadon Sancho within their ranks, when asked in a Q&A session with United fans to name the best dribbler in the squad, Matic named Greenwood and Rashford.

‘The best dribbler with the ball is definitely not me,’ said Red Devils midfielder Matic. ‘I don’t have to do that because my position doesn’t allow me to dribble a lot.

‘I would say probably our strikers – Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford. Yeah maybe these two players.’

Matic also revealed that his footballing idol when growing up was France icon Zinedine Zidane.

‘My favourite player when I was a kid was Zinedine Zidane,’ said the Serbian.

‘When I was a kid, I used to play in a similar position to him so he was my idol. I think, in my opinion, he is one of the best players in football history.

‘My father was a football player and, yeah, I used to watch him when he played. For me, I wanted to be like my father, obviously.

‘He still thinks he was better than me but that’s a different story!’
