Naira Notes Scarcity: Angry Protesters Set Banks , Fuel Stations Ablaze in Delta State

Angry youths in Delta State have set two commercial banks and a fuel station on fire for rejecting old naira notes.

The affected banks are First Bank of Nigeria and Access Bank Branch in Orovwohworun area of Udu of the state.

The protesters who are mostly tricycle and motorcycle operators where angry over refusal of the banks to accept the old denominations (N200, N500 and N1,000).

Trouble started when customers could not get money to withdraw after sever hours on long queues.

The irate youths complained bitterly about the hardship due to the currency scarcity, coupled with the attitude of the bank officials made the attackers to attack the Automated Teller Machines first before setting the banks ablaze.

A protester said they are hungry and in cash dilemma. No new naira notes and the old ones were rejected. People are cannot do anything and are dying because they area still doing politics.

A fuel station was set on fire for refusing to accept old notes from residents.
