My Prayer is May My Children and Grandchildren Not Be Like Trump By Wumi Akintide

I pray for a lot of things I want God to do for me in America but not for any of my children or grandchildren to be like Trump.

I get on my knees and I pray every day for any of my 14 amazing grandchildren to never turn out like Donald Trump or his alter ego Adolf Hitler who had the blood of 6 million Jews on his hand and based on the devastation that my father, a Second World War veteran had told me that War can cause.

The presumption was also based on my recollections from my several visits to the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem every time I visit the Holy City.

I pride myself on being a proud alumnus of the Yeshiva Jewish University of New York and as one of the fellowship recipients of the Karl Ichan Fellowship Award of the University for my Master’s in Social Work and Clinical Psychology way back in 1993.

I have developed an unforgettable sense of Gratitude not just to the University but to the Jews as a people.

I got the idea or the inspiration to launch a Scholarship Foundation in Ondo State in 1994 for children of veterans like me who need some financial help to complete their education.

I did that as an everlasting tribute to my father, whose participation in the Second World War had qualified me to become the first Nigerian recipient of the British/Canadian Legion Scholarship first awarded to children of the veterans of that War in Nigeria, Ghana, the Gambia and Sierra Leone in 1963.

I was lucky to be the one to get the only one that went to Nigeria that year.

The Scholarship had covered my full tuition for 3 the years for my first degree Obtained from Obafemi Awolowo University in June,1966.

The Scholarship also became the open sesame to my first Master’s Degree and Ph.D obained from Connecticut as I have acknowledged, time and again, in all of my articles widely publicized on the Social Media.

I .now know for a fact that all of my 14 grandchildren born and educated in America are all on a trajectory that I could only dream of as a little boy born and raised as a child of privilege in the Deji’ s Palace in my own neck of the woods in Akure now the Ondo State Capital.

How do I know that?
I drove two of my grandchildren to their Charter School in New Orleans, Louisiana to attend their Open Seminar with other grandparents to have a chance to be involved in their grandchildren’s education by formally meeting with their teachers who take pains to explain how our little boys are coping in their school work.

They do that because they know that most grandparents want their grandchildren to succeed in life and many of them would gladly chip in some donations if called upon by the School Management.

I lie to you if I tell you I understand half of what my two grandkids were doing in class. They were just too advanced for me.

They were things I could never have done when I was in their age
bracket.

I could not even assist them with any of their home work in Mathematics. They were just too Advanced for me and I confess my limitations to their Teachers while expressing my gratitude to them for doing a good job.

I left the school feeling dejected as I drove my boys back home to their mother.

I couldn’t believe the caliber and the quality of the education my two boys were getting from their beautiful school.

Would I ever pray for any of my boys to grow up to be like Donald Trump a former President for 4 years?

He’ll no, would be my quick answer.

I don’t want any of my children and grandchildren growing up to look up to a very negative President like Mr.Trump who does not understand or appreciate that the top position that he got lucky to hold for 4 years despite all of his character flaws, do require him to set some boundaries he cannot overstep or side-track for his own good and the good of the whole country and the younger generations looking up to him to be their role model.

Why for God’s sake?

Because Mr.Trump lacks the bare knuckle judgment, the values and the moral character I could ever wish for in all of my 14 grandchildren when they grow up in God’s own country.

If I was still living and voting in America, I can assure you that my one vote and those of my children old enough to vote in America would all go to Kamala for sure.

I compare the two candidates and what they both stand for, or bring to the table, and the values they each exemplify or represent.

I come to the conclusion that there is no way in the world that Donald Trump can ever get my vote regardless of what the fake polls are indi or suggesting.

I now fully understand why Professor Allan Lichtman with his 13 Key Analysis is dismissing with the wave of the hand, what the polls are saying and just harping on voter turnout or voter aparthy as the only thing to watch out for in this Election.

I hundred percent agree with the learned Professor and his predictions on the ultimate outcome of the election.

It is going to be a miracle for Donald Trump to win on November 5. It is easier for the head of Camel to pass through the hole of a needle than for Donald Trump to win this thing. He is going to pull a lot of stunts including violent voter suppression and threats of bloodshed and bloodbath at many polling stations across the country if Law Enforcement are caught with their pants down in providing adequate security for voters and poll workers across the board.

It’s not going to happen!!!!! The guy is going to lose and lose bigger than expected.

All indicators are pointing to a landslide victory for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz barring any unforeseeable development on election day.

I rest my case.
